I'm not sure what the draw is to this collection... unless it is simply nostalgia. Visiting them as an adult I found them tedious and redundant. I read them with my eight-year-old and while she enjoyed listening, didn't beg for more.

This is a typical kids magical adventures story. It is similar to the chronicles of Narnia, in that there is a group of kids who go to a magical place that takes them to different worlds. I would say this is an introduction to this genre. Kids could read this first and then tackle Narnia and His Dark Materials as they develop their reading skills.

wonderful & lovely.

most of my comfort no brain books are written by enid blyton but i gotta admit, the older i get, the more annoying some of the kids are...

I really liked that it was 3 stories fitted into 1 book, I really like it when books do that. I also really like that each story was different than the one before it, as it had a new plot line and new characters were introduced.

My favourite books when I was younger. Also good to read as an adult if you've just watched a scary film and you're about to go to bed. One of the books that made me realise I want to be an author.
