:c

What does it mean when you actually want to kill one of the characters? That sort of means it's a pretty effective character, if you ask me.

I was super invested in this story but the ending was SO LAME! Kinda bummed, but overall I really did enjoy it!

Not as bad as some reviews painted it. I enjoyed the unique setting of a classic, tropey teen drama

I’ve been in a vaguely trashy YA mood lately. This one was fun, different and kept me guessing until maybe the last quarter of the book.

Very interesting futuristic novel. At times it was hard keeping the characters straight. It was also hard to envision the building. I haven’t decided yet if I’ll read the next one in the series.

A little tough to get into, but once you do the different character plots suck you in and you're ready to see what happens. Worth the read if you're looking for a futuristic Gossip Girl. I couldn't help but thinking halfway through the book that it would have made a little more sense if the characters were in college and a little older--what with the drugs and alcohol. So long as you don't take it all too seriously it is still interesting. I loved reading about the technology and the insanely creative world McGee has created. It's very cool!

I had never heard of this book or author but picked it up on a whim at a thrift store. I didn’t initially realize it was a trilogy, but I ended up enjoying it so much that I had to go and buy the next 2 books in the series! The book had a great opening that immediately had me hooked and sucked me into the mystery of “whodunnit” The main characters are all teenagers in a near futuristic New York City so it does have more of a YA vibe, but that’s in no way a criticism, I love YA! It’s also written so well that it doesn’t feel juvenile or silly and you just get interested in the characters on a human level. There’s a lot of mystery and intrigue and I loved how it was multi-perspective since that added another layer of interest to the storytelling. There were a lot of twists and turns and it truly kept me guessing up until the very last moment, which I loved!
