I bought this after reading a recommendation in the Globe and Mail. Initially I expected a very light frothy summer read but it turned out to be better than that, with well developed characters and an interesting plot. It's not literature but it is a fun summer read.
WTF did I just read?! This was completely fucked on so many levels and I was completely sucked in. I just had to keep knowing what was going to happen next.
The twists! The turns! Robyn Harding did it again - a five star read for me! I love a good, messy psychological thriller, and this one nails that description perfectly. This book is full of obsession, lies, toxicity, manipulation, lust… all things I love in a domestic/psychological thriller. It had me turning the pages quickly and kept me guessing until the very end. Robyn has a way with words and pulls me in with her first page like no other! I loved it!
In a little island town in the Pacific Northwest where life is quiet and slow, three women’s paths cross. A fierce friendship develops between beautiful, rich, and awe-inspiring Freya, lonely, ordinary, and straight-laced Jamie, and awkward, angsty, and impressionable teenager Low.
Freya is undeniably the driving force of this friendship, but that’s not saying she’s a real good friend to both.
And then there’s the husband swap. One night, Jamie, Freya, and their husbands get high and drunk together, and then end up with the wrong partner on their beds…
What I liked about it: Fast-paced and an unexpected twist
What I didn’t like about it: Awful characterization and a storyline that’s over the top and trashy

I started out hate reading this book because several of the main characters were so dislikeable. But I kept reading and man it was worth it! It was a emotional rollercoaster all the way until the end. Read this one!!

Wow! What the heck did I just read? Completely messed up characters and plot, so much obsession... I liked it. I loathed the characters but this did not take away from the story. Would have given more stars but the ending was too blah for me...
I've been wanting to read one of Robyn Harding's books for a while now and I am so happy I started with this one. The story line was interesting and the characters were unlikable yet also fascinating. I really couldn't put the book down because I HAD to see how it ended. I thought the ending was well done although a bit predictable. I am looking forward to reading another of Ms. Harding's books.

the dynamics between the characters is quite interesting to explore and Freya and Low’s friendship made me feel a little uncomfortable, couldn’t put this book down
