I finished this book at lightning pace! While the characters are somewhat unlikeable, the story keeps you hooked throughout with the tense plot. This book won't necessarily win any literary awards however I did find it an easy and enjoyable read.
This book was filled with toxic relationships and unlikeable characters. However, it was compelling and I could have read it in a single sitting if I’d had the time. It was disturbing and yet I couldn’t put it down.

This was a rare re-read for me, as I've enjoyed more recent books by this author and wanted to go back and read some of her earlier works. Even with the vague recollections I had, this kept the pages turning and was pretty much a one-sitting read.
Low is a misfit high school senior, trying to find her place whilst living in an isolated community on a small island. Freya is a beautiful social media influencer who has moved to the island and takes Low under her wing, teaching her pottery and seemingly developing a fondness for her. Enter Jamie, a local business owner who also becomes friends with Freya, leaving Low once again on the fringes.
A boozy night leads to Freya and Jamie swapping husbands, which completely upends their lives.
A dark read about toxic friendships, desire, obsession and secrets.
An author who continues to surprise and engage me, and one I'll continue to read

Low, the loner, sees beautiful, social media influencer, Freya Light at her school one day and makes it her mission to befriend her. Low takes Freya up on her offer for pottery lessons and begins working at Freya's home studio several days a week. When Jamie, the local mercantile owner befriends Freya and Low is suddenly kicked to the curb, a web of jealousy is spun.
One night, Freya, Jamie and their husbands partake in some recreational fun which leads to a couple's swap... which Low witnesses! The book chronicles the fallout of that night, packed full of obsession, deception, and guilt.

I’m not entirely sure why Robyn’s books are listed as thrillers. They’re not very thrilling. The Swap reads more like a Liane Moriarty novel where you know something bad is about to happen and it’s dramatic as heck but not full of twists and turns (ok except for maybe the ending could shock a few people). Still really enjoyed it though. Time to read The Arrangement

This book had me hooked from the very beginning. I enjoyed the multiple POVs and the pacing of the book. Topics of obsession, infidelity, infertility and polyamory were explored and I thought that they were handled in a mature way by the author without being judgmental or pretentious. All of the characters were flawed and not one was innocent, but at the same time had qualities that drew you in. There were a couple things in the book that I felt were a bit of a stretch, but overall it was a good, guilty pleasure read.

Whoa. What a crazy non-stop entertaining ride with so many unlikeable characters.
