I did enjoy it, however, I was hoping for more suspense. It was a predictable drama

I did not finish this one. The type of story is not my style.

This wasn’t at all what I thought it would be in a good way. So much crazy going on in this book!

What a ride! Harding weaves quite the tale of obsession. Low is a teen girl who is instantly in love with Faye Light, an Insta influencer, who has arrived in the tiny town of Hawking. They begin a friendship, but Faye soon finds a friend her own age and tries to ditch Low. From there things spiral out of control.

I really enjoyed the writing in this fast paced drama. The alternating POV was a little confusing at times when the character name wasn't on the chapter page. My only complaint was with one event near the end of the story involving a baby. I wish there would have been a head's up about violence against an infant. I don't want to give spoilers, but if you are sensitive to this be ware.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

I expected something totally different and was pleasantly surprised!

I have so many feelings about this book but mainly I’m just shook! This book is filled with such juicy goodness that you just can’t put it down. I felt like I could have kept reading about these characters, they were that interesting! And the ending was so savage! I’m not sure what genre this book falls under, maybe a little thriller, maybe just regular fiction, all I know is I want more like this! I immediately purchased two other books by this author after finishing this one! ⁣

I enjoy Robyn Harding's writing, but this story was not for me. I was able to finish it, but it was a bit of a push. I didn't like the characters, but also didn't feel invested in them. I would read other reviews as others found this a gripping read. In this case, I was not the right reader for this novel. I look forward to Harding's next novel.

Wow! I feel so many things about this book.

This was my first read from Robyn Harding and I am very eager to read more from her. I am having a hard time processing the precipice of feelings I have for this read. How wonderful that Harding could have me so engaged in a story about a group of people, of which I despise every one of them.

We have five main characters here in this little island world. Low, a lonely teen finding comfort in the wrong kind of people. We have Jamie and her husband Brian, who move to the island to start over after one too many blows in the inability to conceive department. We have Max, an shamed and shunned ex hockey player with a violent past. And then we have his wife, Freya, the core of the group; the one that everyone revolves around like her own sick little gallery. As I said, I didn't like any of the characters. They all seemed to me like the worst versions of themselves. There were moments interspersed when I either understood their motives or their actions pertaining to a certain event, but as a whole, these people were the worst, with Freya being the ABSOLUTE worst.

But, with not connecting to any of these individuals, I thoroughly enjoyed the story! This was all based in lies and manipulations. Each person was either doing something untoward to another for the sake of their own happiness, or blindly ignoring certain things others were doing in order to hold onto something for themselves, whether or not it was a toxicity to themselves. So frustrating, but something I couldn't put down!
