A little ridiculous (many eye rolls, but especially at the end).
I kept trying to figure out if this was trying to be a moral indictment on certain adult behaviors (polyamory, drug use, having kids—or not having kids). I'm still not sure, but it felt oddly preachy and judgmental at times.
I'm afraid the audiobook performances didn't help boost the appeal. One of the narrators' audio quality was noticeably different from the others, which was distracting to say the least. Add to that the fact that a narrator kept mispronouncing words(!) and it made for a bit of a wreck.
If you hate the kind of books in which every character is detestable, avoid this one. It's full of monsters and they're not very believable anyway.

Two couples swap partners after a night of mushrooms, one of the wives is self-obsessed and the other one is barren. Throw in a teenager who has no friends, an unhealthy attachment to adults and is obsessed with the self-obsessed wife and you’ve got yourself one f*cked up book. This was just a weird book. I was unclear as to the purpose of this book. Was it a mystery? Was it a love story? Was it a story of loss? Was it a waste of my time? I guess I’ll never know.
WOW! What a mess a fun night of 'shrooms and couple swapping can lead to. This is great read for anyone fantasizing about swapping partners for a night. I haven't read Robyn Harding before, but I'll be picking up her previous books for sure. I love the characters, the twisted story line, and most of the chapters end with a single sentence as cliff hanger.
