I always look forward to Robyn Harding's books and this was a different take on a domestic thriller!! Refreshing.

The Swap by Robyn Harding was unpredictable from beginning to end. Low, a gangling social outcast teen, is drawn to Freya, a town newcomer who teaches pottery. Low finally finds a friend in Freya, and becomes infatuated with her. Suddenly, Freya befriends Jamie, another newcomer who is her age and Low is on the outs, accused on stalking Freya. Low plots to seek revenge to break up the friendship so she can have Freya all to herself again. But as Low becomes more embedded in Freya's life, she witnesses all the secrets Freya's house holds and has to decide if she wants to be a part of them.

Similar to Robyn Harding's other books, The Swap was engrossing and twisty. The characters weren't especially likable, but they were not meant to be. The plot twists were unique, and the story came together well at the end. Thanks to NetGalley for the chance to read and review!

Freya, a former social media influencer, has moved to an isolated island in the Pacific Northwest with her husband Max, a former hockey player, to start over.

Jamie and her husband, Brian, have just moved to the island for a fresh start after struggling from infertility. When Jamie meets Freya, they immediately become friends.

Low, a self-conscious high school senior, signs up for a pottery class Freya is hosting, and immediately feels a connection with her and wants to spend as much time as possible with Freya.

When Freya invites Jamie and Brian over for a couples night with her and her husband, not only is Low jealous when she finds out, but the consequences of that night change all of their lives forever.

THE SWAP was so addictive! I read this book in one day and almost in one sitting. Overall, I thought it was pretty predictable, but the addictive nature of this book made me unable to put it down!

THE SWAP features short chapters with alternating characters and some unreliable narrators, which I always love. It deals with friendship, and when friendship becomes obsession.

This is my second book by Robyn Harding. I previously read and loved THE ARRANGEMENT, and my love for this book has quickly made Harding an autobuy author for me!

I’ll keep this short, but if you’re a fan of domestic thrillers and looking for a binge read, this one is for you!

A night out w/new friends and drugs leads to serious complications in a couple's HEA!

This one was one heck of a wild ride! Freya looks like the kind of woman you strive to be, but what's that saying about not judging a book by it's cover?! Holy lunatic - she is the BFF from hell y'all! No one stands a chance against her evil manipulations - or do they???

This was an absolute page turner - I could not put this book down! Some of it might seem a bit unrealistic but honesty it was just so juicy, I didn't care in the least. I mean there's polygamy, drugs, spouse swapping, infidelity, murder, jealousy, toxic relationships, abuse, obsession, sexuality and I'm sure I'm probably not listing it all.

This book has some amazing, unlikable characters. You know what I mean - characters you just love to hate and can't get enough of! I mean these adults were behaving badly and the poor kids around them, I just wanted to whisk them away!

This book will give you all the icky, creepy vibes leaving you unable to turn the pages fast enough!

I really enjoyed THE ARRANGEMENT by Robyn Harding when I received it in a book box, so her newest book THE SWAP went right onto my TBR. I’m overdue on my review for this one (I actually read it back in March) because it was a tough one to wrap my thoughts around!

THE SWAP follows Low Morrison, a teen girl who has a lot of freedom but doesn’t really find a place to belong. When she meets Freya, a woman who was once a social media darling, Low is instantly intrigued. Freya now creates beautiful pottery and Low joins her for to learn pottery making herself. Freya uses Low as a confidant which only encourages Low’s obsession more.

When Freya makes a new friend, Low feels left out in the cold. When Freya and her new friend Jamie have a drunken dinner party with their partners, the idea of partner swapping comes up. This leads to a lot of questions of did they or didn’t they with Low, the unknown witness outside.

This book was easy to get hooked into, though there really weren’t any particularly likeable characters. They are characters that it is fun to read about, but not people you would want to actually know in real life. Low’s obsession is somewhat understandable because Freya seems to be the first person to really show signs of friendship and affection for her. Still, from the outside looking in, it is clear that Freya is using Low for engagement because she’s there.

Harding did a fantastic job of keeping the questions coming with twists that I sometimes saw coming, but still kept me hooked to see how they would play out. This is a highly bingeable read!

If you enjoy a good book about adults behaving very badly, this might be the read for you!

⁣⁣I picked this up yesterday and couldn’t put it down. Jamie and Low find themselves to be obsessively drawn to Freya, a self-absorbed social media influencer who has fallen from grace. Throw in some partner swapping, polygamy, stalking and a death, and you have The Swap by Robyn Harding. This was highly addictive, and perfect if you want a quick read by the pool or beach. Definitely recommend.⁣⁣⁣

This book was seriously so good. Had me hooked from page one. Obsessed!

What a twisted book. I love a solid set of messed up characters, but The Swap takes it to a new level. While entertaining, the whole story seemed superficial. There was little character development and even less plot development. There wasn’t really a final twist, either - just a whirlwind set of events that solidified Freya (one of the three female protagonists) as batshit crazy. A fun read - especially if you enjoy marriage thrillers - but lacking the depth required for me to really enjoy the story.
