Meh.

2.5 stars. I had to dock a full star because of the three page Rap Battle between Jack and Frey.
Yes, you read that right. *Cringe*

I never go into these companion books with big expectations, I always just take them as face value - quirky little extras from the books I love. This one was no different. And it did set up book 2 of the MC trilogy, so it did its job.

Some stories were fun, some weren't. A good addition to the series and does a little character development and explains more about the 9 realms.

funny and entertaining. pretty good for a summary of norse myth if one does not know anything about it. otherwise, it is just repetition of the myth, which i recommend Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman much more.

For now, though, sit back, relax, and enjoy your ongoing death, your daily resurrection, and your everlasting stay here.

A good fresh-up between the first and the second book!
funny informative fast-paced

Some decent stories in this one, some of which really made me laugh, but overall, I prefer the regular books, especially on audio. After listening to this one, I think it is much better read than listened to, because it's hard to tell when the narrator is moving from one chapter to the next. Still, it is a solid companion to the trilogy and I rounded up because the whole series is so strong.

Lol read by Kieran Culkin

having finished this it officially means i only have 10 things left to read in my silly riordanverse readalong and then i can get back to reading my actual tbr, hell yes (i mean i've obviously been enjoying it but this man wrote so much)
