Only hot people love Twilight.

I will forever stand by that. Tbh I've only watched the movies up until now and this was my first time reading part 2. And I still believe that it is a great story. Anyone expecting a literary masterpiece should consider reading a book which doesn't revolve around a teenage girl falling in love with a vampire and having to choose between him and her werewolf best friend. Because honestly what are you expecting? Despite that I - a (not quite) teenage girl obsessed with vampires - think that the books as well as the movies hit just the right spot for anyone interested in vampires and hot guys who have desperately fallen in love with you.

Now to this particular book: I did enjoy the first half a LOT. In fact I really believe that this book has turned me from Team Edward to Team Jacob. Watching the movies I always felt like Jacob was just forcing himself onto Bella, but since their relationship has way more depth in this book, I really liked his character better. I know that it was never a fair match between them, because Bella is the stupid teenage girl that she is. I really relate to her in that way, which makes me all the more glad to not being able to give up my life and soul for those stupid boys I was sure were the LOML back then. Anywayyy, her depressive episode and how Meyer explored and explained her feelings and her grief were just great. I know that part gets a lot of hate, because "Its just not relatable" or "How can you be this depressed about some boy you only knew a short while?". I feel sorry for those types of people, maybe they feel the same way about me when I admit to relating to almost every single thought Bella expressed, but hey, better to have loved and lost, right? For me this is just another example of people bashing anything that teenage girls like. Its like Taylor Swift, there's just like no reason to hate, but somehow we all have heard grown ass men talking about how bad her music is or seen those memes that Taylor Swift fans give teethy head. Like how does that even correlate? Not at all, but somehow the patriarchy still makes it work :D

Okay I really don't know how I got to this last part, but let's just continue 'kay? :)
Lets get to the second part of this book, where Bella jumps of a cliff, which leads to Edward stepping in front of the Volturi to khs. If it makes you feel any better, blame this on my love for Jacob, but this part made me hate Edward. It just seems stupid and irrational. He has lived a hundred and ten years and now I have to believe that he sacrifices his life, because the girl with the personality of a pea (at least when she's with him and she's all like "Wow, you are sooo gerat and hot and I don't deserve you" (which is like EVERY page of the last half)) ,who he hasn't seen for 8 months and known for like 3(?) before that, jumped of a cliff? You know what, just blame it on my hate for irrational love stories, where the girl doesn't know her worth and relies entirely on the man to save her, because I really believe that this was the reason I can not relate to her character at all in the end. I mean her and Jacob really had similar interest, shared every waking hour together and developed a real bond (+ he's tall and hot (literally)), so how am I supposed to believe that Edward is the better choice now, Stephanie?!

To conclude this: Jacob > Edward, Bella is just a girl and I don't know if I can put up with their love story for two more books now :,)

Somewhat better than the first but not by much so there is hope for me in reading the next one. I would really like this book and storyline if it were just written better. Seems disjointed and choppy.

Oh Bella….

comfort series, will take no criticism - 5 stars lol
