It was definitely not as good as the first... in fact it was close to unbearable without Edward around for most of the book. I read it quickly only because I wanted to get back to the part where he would come back. I've heard it picks up again in the third book, so here's hoping.
Oh my god, the middle drags forever, but the ending is fun. An entertaining plane read for me.

I also really enjoyed this one - in fact we finished reading the first book while we were in Tasmania. Then we flew to New Zealand and spent the night calling bookstores until we found one that was open late in Auckland and bought the second book.
