I really loved the addition of the werewolves, the lore and legends surrounding them, as well as the build up done in the first book, really added to the general world building. They really were my favourite part of the book, so in my opinion it would have been great if they had been fleshed out even more.
I had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Bella this book. While I found her grief, and how she handled her grief, interesting to read about, at times it felt exaggerated, and her really only using Jacob to cope and forget about Edward frustrated me to no end. Still, the book was really fun and amusing to read, and I finished it fairly quickly! Looking forward to all the drama in the next book.

i’ve watched the movies multiple times so i was expecting this book to kinda drag out and not be the best and that expectation was correct.
definitely preferred the movie to the book on this one especially since there isn’t so much boring unnecessary dialogue. so much of what bella does with jacob barely moves the plot along and i feel like this book could’ve been shorter.
there’s just way too much excessive unnecessary writing that feels boring and half the time there’s multiple pages of bella’s inner thoughts that could’ve been summed up in “i’m depressed without edward, i need him back”.
looking forward to reading eclipse and breaking dawn now that this one is over with, hopefully they aren’t as disappointing as this one.
