My Review:
This is the first book I've read by Karen Rose, and is the first in a new series featuring Faith Corcoran. It's a fast-paced thriller with plenty of action and suspense, endearing characters and it keeps you guessing. There is also some romance, including some quite graphic sex scenes, but I feel this is a good fit with the mood of the storyline, rather than added simply for the sake of ticking another box.
Faith is a strong female character, which is great. Nothing turns me off a book quicker than a pathetic simpering woman, so Faith is an ideal lead for me.
All the characters in this book are well written, particularly the more striking looking Novaks. There is great attention to detail, making the characters spring to life right off the page.
The twists and turns mostly kept me on my toes, I was able to guess what was going to happen on a couple of occasions, hence the slightly less than perfect rating. I do read an awful lot of books of this genre, so I'm not convinced your average reader would be unsurprised by how the storyline evolves.
A thoroughly compulsive read; I'll definitely be taking a look at other novels by Karen Rose.

I loved this book. I love how the author made you think you had it all figured out from the beginning, but then went “HA JK”. It says it’s book #16, but to my knowledge they’re all stand alone. It had just enough romance to keep it fun, but not enough to distract from the story and plot.
What were those sex scenes? Horrific. Gee I never have cringed so much. They were so awful.
And also, what was with the relationship? They have only known each other for a day and they are so turned on that they have sex, while in the middle of an investigation where she is an potential witness in a case while women are being tortured. And this isn't the first time this has happened in one of Karen Rose's novels, it's appalling it really is.
And then after three days of lust really because that was all that they had, no connection, no feelings for one another and he goes I think I could love her, in fact I already am (those weren't the exact words but they went something like that) and really? Gosh, you have known each other three days and shown nothing but lust for one another, how ridiculous.
This book is as far from reality as you can get, something like that would never happen in real life.
Now onto the investigation, it made the book an okay novel but it was nothing really special or unique.

Ready to spend your next 72 hours in tension, without eating nor sleeping?
You will feel the pain, the fear, the sorrow of Corinne and Roza, because they are kidnapped by a serial killer who just want to pass the time torturing his guests.
Faith´s days will not be easy, she will have to survive a few attempts to murder her and discover that she is not just escaping from a stalker, she is the target of a serial killer. Everything seems connected to Faith´s legacy, is the murderer nearer than she thinks?
This is another gripping, fascinating book of Karen Rose.
She's one of my favourite writers and she didn't disappoint me with this catchy book.
I was expecting the Deacon story, with his white hair and his special eyes! He is a hero or a superhero? With his super jacket and the Kevlar you can get confused...
Faith will be his perfect match, intelligent, curious and ready to risk her life for anyone she cares.
They will have to live some very frightening moments together, but if they survive maybe they will have a little bit more relaxed life, don't you think?
Like always, Karen had made an amazing thriller, with lots of death and curious plot twists (of course the killer will not be the one who you are expecting!).
I wonder which will be the next "hero" book... Adam? Maybe we will know what is really happening to him... or Dani? it would be interesting have a psycho doctor!

A psychologist's stalker catches up to her as she investigates missing women with an FBI agent. I've always loved Rose's respectful, protective alpha heroes and this one's awesome, with his white hair, bi-colored eyes and brilliant mind. She's courageous, kind and equally smart. The romance builds over a few days but it feels like slow burn on paper (as the book goes by hours + minutes), with plenty of chemistry and tension.
They're a great match, I loved their strong connection, and how he supports and protects her. Not very high in heat, but their sexy moments are steamily sensual. The suspense is exciting but disturbing, with a very twisted villain. Side note, all the women kicked ass! It's a whopper at ≈700 pgs but I really enjoyed the read.

Wow, this story is fantastic!!!
I had really been looking forward to reading Deacon Novak's story since his appearance in Did you miss me? but was a little disappointed when I found out it wouldn't be part of the Baltimore series, but a new series altogether, as I often find the first book in a new series hard to get into, however this story had me gripped from start to finish, and was a perfect mix of suspense and romance and
has easily become my favourite Karen Rose book, and now I can't wait to read more from this series!
