Delightful! I dare you not to fall in love with this lovely group of Depression-era Kansas farm women. Not sure I needed the murder mystery, but it was fun.

Absolutely delightful. Full of memorable characters and endearing voices. You don't want it to end. It's got that quirky small-town thing down pat. There is a tone of reality, where you know that the author understands small towns. You come to love the people and you can relate to the Pickles. The camaraderie that comes when you sit around a quilting frame is unrivaled. Queenie is delightful. You want her for your best friend and Rita is a hoot. You can just picture the upheaval that she brings to small town life.

She knows how to bring in some twists and turns!

I think I would have liked this better if I read it straight through, instead of in small chunks. I enjoyed it well enough, but never got very involved in it.

It is very rare for me to give a five-star review to anything, but this book surprised me in many ways. It’s a slim volume, but it speaks volumes. It seems simple, and yet it’s immensely complicated. All together, it added up to a book I would read again and again, and I’m so grateful to be living now instead of in the 30s.

A beautiful story depicting strong female bonds & friendship. Set in 1930s Kansas during the dust bowl, this novel touches on historical struggles, the strength of community, with a dash of murder mystery. I found the characters absolutely delightful, and loved the ending.

The title caught my eye - I would love to read about a Pickle Club"! Well, no cucumber pickles were involved. I was drawn in by the story of women's friendship and the authenticity of the characters.

I have to save my review until after my friends read it, and after the Knit*Lit Club meets! This was the on the list for our Library book club.

This was a conflicting book for me. On one hand, I didn't think the author went into enough character development for my personal taste. On the other hand, I thought the simplicity of the story line matched the simplicity of the characters in that so much of the friendships communication went unspoken, yet the bonds amongst friends was clearly strong with much love.

What a cute book. I really liked it. It kind of reminded me of the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. It was a quick read and it made me smile as I read it. I loved the characters and loved how the story developed. A book I would recommend to all.
