I would consider rereading this book, my highest honor for a book.

I have so many thoughts but I'm so pleased the second person narration/device ended up being such a crucial frame of storytelling.

Ahhhh

AHHHH

It's so good ‼️‼️‼️

"This isn't just about you. All things change in a Season - and some part of you is tired, finally, of the lonely, vengeful woman narrative."

This line irritated me because this narrative worked best when it was one woman on a journey to find her daughter and avenge her son. The series really suffered from 1) trying to adhere to the found family trope and 2) widening the scope of the story. It lost focus and the characters' motivations became muddied and fickle.

This trilogy is really reminiscent of Parable of the Sower for me, but I had to be looking up summaries online like every five chapters. I am not smart enough to get this book on the first go around.

The first book is really good . . . and the second is quite good for me but this one, even though a lot is happening, action etc. I didn't feel it. Plus the Earth story or being "alive" . . . I don't like it that much.

I wish there was more!!! NK Jemison builds such elaborate worlds and I was left wishing i could keep reading about the characters and their stories. Heartbreaking and hopeful and a revealing end to the series
