All in all this was a phenomenal story and series. Having said that, I thought the ending to this all was a bit disjointed.
They never explain what happened to Noah's father after the warehouse when he left to go save Daniel after he thought Mara was dead but then everyone goes skipping off into the sunset.
Aren't they worried, at all, about if/when he returns to continue his evil doings?
It just wasn't a concise and clear ending but, despite that, I did enjoy the series. It was a very different and new storyline with well written characters that were easy to love or hate appropriately, it kept you guessing and it made all the feels happen.
I would definitely recommend this series to all.

While I can't say the series was flawless, I REALLY enjoyed it. The whole time, I wondered what would come next. I didn't feel like it was a typical YA read, I really appreciated the psychological aspect of the books, it was certainly something that kept me turning pages. I liked that the characters were well developed, interesting, and witty. I liked that the plot was layered, it kept me asking questions, "What's going on with Mara?" "What's going on with Noah?" "What's up with Horizons?" "Is this a supernatural plot? Or an extremely freaky psychological plot?" etc. I liked that the layers shifted as the characters discovered more of what is going on around them. I thought the end of the series was a little under developed... but overall, again, I liked it quite a lot.
I mostly appreciate that her writing isn't depressing, but it's dark. It's not realistic or unrealistic... but it just works.
Anyhow, if this sounds like your kind of thing, definitely check the series out. It's a short one and all of the books are very quick reads.

This was too good plot twists are amazing I didn’t except a lot of this coming so glad the ending is happy.
“I love you. Today. Tonight. Tomorrow. Forever. If I were to live a thousand years, I would belong to you for all of them. If I were to live a thousand lives,
I would want to make you mine in each one.”
Noah shaw the loml.
Everyone slayed Jamie is hilarious Stella was nice Daniel is obv bomb granny was kinda creepy mara is psycho but we love that
Also I feel a bit bad for Jude.

Very good, and pretty satisfying ending. There were definitely some fantastic fast paced scenes especially at the beginning. Overall, I had predicted the outcome since book one, but it was interesting to see how certain elements unfolded.
The biggest thing for me was that, with the unfolding of the plot/conclusion of the series, it lost some of the charm of “what is real, what isn’t real” that is so prevalent in the first two. That comes with wrapping up a psychological based series, so I knew it would come but it still was sad. I also wasn’t a fan of the random POV shifts towards the end, I believe it could have remained only for a particular scene. The rest didn’t need to happen (but that is just my opinion.)
Twas a great series nonetheless, and I still am in love with Noah Shaw.

how was I ever okay with this ending like I'm so glad we got a sequel series
I felt like this was a little slower than the other two but it was great to have the story completed.
I don’t know what to say about this book. I loved it, but I wasn’t feeling the same about this one like the first two books.
Possibly because of the following:
The lack of Noah. Seriously, how the hell does this book function halfway without Noah Shaw in it?!
Mara’s personal judgement in some situations. If you’ve read this book, then you know exactly what I’m talking about. Some situations were so easy for me to tell, but Mara, ugh! I swear. But, I never hated Mara for anything, even if I did not agree with her.
The information discovered in this book could have been explained in the previous book. I am not a big fan of info-dumping for last book in a series. Not that there was a lot of info-dumping (I think Allegiant wins in that department) but I feel like the information could have been partially spread in between both books.
But. I still loved this, even though I felt there could’ve been more improvement.
It was nice to see Mara’s relationship with her friends and family, and seeing which measures she would take in order to protect them. I felt like the friendship (the awesome friendship, I must point out) in between Mara and Jamie was done so beautifully! I was so happy with the way that Mara and Jamie’s friendship was shown. I think this last book showed this the best.
Mara finally accepts herself! It was so relieving to read about the way Mara could finally realize that she’s not as terrible as she thought.
Overall, The Retribution of Mara Dyer is a book that is satisfying, but still leaves the feeling that there could’ve been some room for more than there was. I thought that a lot of things that weren’t shown in the last few books were shown quite well in this one.
I would recommend this series to anyone! I would say that if you get grossed out and scared very easily then not to read this. Some parts were gruesome to read about (I guess not for me, from other reviews I’ve seen and read) so be careful about that.

3.5 stars
I was actually really surprised by this book. I loved the direction it took at the beginning, making Mara out to be an anti-hero and all that.I got significantly more bored towards the end though, which is why I'm giving it a 3.5.

I don't know how I completely feel about this book yet. I liked the book, but I LOVED the series. Review to follow shortly!
