I remember being pretty upset by the ending when I first read this, but re-reading it has made me see that it's actually very fitting and makes a lot of sense.
I'm still shocked by how dark and uncomfortable this series is and I'm very curious for what direction the companion series takes.

I'm going to cry! This book was so amazing! It wasn't how I wanted it, but it turned out so much better! I missed Noah all throughout the book though, and it was darker than the other ones. That could be attributed to having to close the series though. I loved this book and I am going to miss this story and these characters! I wish I could reread it for the first time again! I loved that madness (Mara and Noah) did get to stay together in the end! I was so incredibly happy that they made a plan and she was going to write the story! It makes me a little nervous that there was never really closure on how long they were going to be able to be together before she caused his death or something. ALSO THE FACT THAT SHE NEVER REACTED TO ABEL LUKUMI AKA THE PROFESSOR BEING HER GRANDFATHER!!! What about her little brother who carries the gene??? How come it said if she died it would have been him? Regardless of my crisis over closure I think the open ended ness fit well with the feel of the book. This entire time Mara, and consequently us, have been left questioning, so why would now be any different??? My heart really wants them to be happy together for centuries. It has been a journey Mara.
Fr the most part, I enjoyed this...but it didn't live up to my expectations. Didn't like the way things ended and how some things never got wrapped up.
I really enjoyed this. Teenager angst, sarcastic and sassy Jamie, Noah and Mara's relationship, this whole weird plot thing. But anyways I don't have my laptop right now to write a proper review, but I promise I will write a real review once I'm not lazy to turn on my MacBook.
