SO GOOD! I loved the mystery in this trilogy totally bittersweet! The whole time I was reading there was no guessing the outcome, and it was all still super confusing till toward the end. It still is... There were some gruesome and morbid parts where I cringed, was disgusted and horrified, it was all bittersweet... I would totally recommend this book.
Stars: 5/5
Okay, so I had a hard time reading this book. Not because it was badly written, as always Michelle's writing was perfect, but my hard was due to the fact that I knew it was an ending to a much loved series.
I'll try to make this without any specific spoiler.
Anyway, I was confused because the characters had grown and changed so much that at some points I had to put down the book and read something from book 1 or 2, just because I missed how they were. And sometimes I had to put it down and read something else because it was just too much.
Mara's growing was fast paced and forced upon her, which made me feel sad sometimes. Such a strong character having to go through so much... Just... Ugh... So unfair that she had to grew so much. But I'm happy with whom she became, which I guess was Michelle's aim.
The Noah situation made my heart physically ache. God, so much pain. I'm not even going to go down that road.
Jamie was my favorite character, as always. Perhaps the best written secondary character I've ever seen.
I expected the plot twist in the end but was still pleasantly surprise with how it was all explained and written.
I guess the only bad thing about the book is that it ended an amazing series. I hope Michelle gets to write many more novels, because I would buy them all with no doubt.
This was way to long. Sorry.
Five stars just because I can't give it six!

You are what happiness means to me. And I would rather have today with you than forever with anyone else.

What a great trilogy.
I smiled and cried so many times
Beautifully written.

i've never fallen in love with a series as much as i did w/ the journey of marashaw. this book had me torn. the writing was beautiful, the characters-- more real than i can ever fathom. i can't believe it's over. the most beautiful love story ever written.
Like so many endings to young adult trilogies, this final book was a bit of a disappointment to me. I still enjoyed it, but I don't feel like the plot was adequately wrapped up...some elements were much too neat, and, paradoxically, some much too sloppy. The "genetic memory" storyline was one of the most interesting parts of the book for me, but by the end, it was almost abandoned for the sake of the overly melodramatic teenage romance. Bleh. Out of all that was intriguing and compelling about these books, the culmination is a sex scene? Really? I mean, whatever, let the young lovers have their fun, but don't make that the be all and end all of the series. I'm glad I finished it, but I left it feeling let down.
imho this was the best of the series! (i may have taken an entire star off for the changing perspectives during the sex scene.) it was dark and gory but held hope in the end. i choose to believe that mara and noah end up parting a la jem and tessa. :)
