The nicknames just gave me the biggest ick.
This was an okay palate cleanser between fantasy books. Quick read. I didn’t really connect with the characters and the story felt a bit strange. I would have liked for Nick & Shae to know each other longer before getting together. He was quite dreamy, too dreamy sometimes and felt like different people made one character and that brought me out of the story several times.
All in all, it was a fine short read.

More spice than I’m typically interested in, love these vibes though. Read it in a day, so cute!!

Horrible name- SUPER CUTE PLOT very much hallmark Christmas movie and really cute moments with the mmc and the fmc’s kids

Personal request to whoever in publishing controls this - can romance books please get a proper editing round?? The POV name for the chapter just stops at one point. The wrong word happens frequently, clearly a typo miscorrected. This happens in so many other romance books it’s so annoying.

I loved this book
Nick is an absolute babe

Really wanted to like this but almost just stopped reading it this didn’t slay
lighthearted fast-paced
emotional funny inspiring slow-paced

This just didn't do it for me. Nick is a little too perfect, the setup was a little too convenient, the lack of Connor in the second half of the book threw me off as well. Shae had some character development, the spice was good, but overall, I had to force myself to finish this.

Unfortunately after The Fall of Bradley Reed being one of my favourite reads this year, I was really looking forward to the rest of the books in this series but this one wasn't for me. Whilst the idea was good, I didn't connect with the writing and considered dnfing at the 75% mark as it was quite repetitive. The same conversation between the FMC and MMC was happening every other chapter which made it drag for me.
