It was sweet but I was getting bored. It lacked tension and Nick was just too perfect?! Didn’t have the same drama like tis the season for revenge which I loved.
3.5 Stars
Very sweet romance between two single parents. Nick takes on the role of moving the Elf on the Shelf for Shae’s kids after his son, Connor, introduces them over an unfortunate Thanksgiving.
It was nice to see Shae after she was introduced in Tis the Season for Revenge and get glimpses of Abby and Damien as well.

Swoon, this book was something special!
The way it starts out with Connor going on a date with someone he thinks is a MILF only to end up becoming best friends with her and her two girls.
When Nick (Conors dad) finally meets her and her girls on thanksgiving, since Conor invited them, Nick begins to realize that over the months that Conor has been talking about her, Nick has slowly started falling for her and once he meets her he needs to be in her and her girls lives for good!
Enter in the Elf on the Shelf 🤣
Read this book if you love these tropes:
•Age Gap (7ish years)
•Single Mom
•Past Abuse (mentioned as part of FMCs past)
•Christmas tree farm
•He is a cowboy
•He falls first
•NO Third Act Break-up
•Elf on the Shelf Shenanigans
I love when Nick keeps trying to figure out if Conor and Shea are more than just friend and Conor flat out tells his dad that he found her for him, that he knows that he always wanted more kids but never dated or anything because he was always raising/taking care of him.

This was so so sweet and so steamy in true Morgan Elizabeth fashion. I only wish it was longer to see more of the Finch family!
This book was funny and charming and the spice was perfect. Shae is one bad as momma who can concur almost anything. She struggles allowing, let’s face it the most perfect cowboy ever into her life and honestly you can’t blame her. While reading this book I truly enjoyed it, I laughed a lot and it gave me all the feels… like ALL the feels if you know what I mean. Analyzing everything after the fact I think there would be a couple things that could have been different for me to call it a five but honestly I think this was a great holiday read.
I just feel like Connor should’ve shown up more as the book progressed? He wasn’t even at Christmas. But it was a good story, and I loved the elf’s role in it all.
I loved this! Cutest little single mom & cowboy falling for her story! Perfect for the holidays.
This was cute. Quick read…. But I wanted more Christmas. Thank god for the MMC because the FMC was atrocious.
This is a very sweet holiday read. I absolutely loved Nick and hope if I ever find myself a single mom of two that I have a Nick out there for me. My only gripe (because this is a very lovely, inoffensive book that is cozy and full of healing and love) is there were some grammatical errors throughout that sort of took me out of the story. Normally I can gloss over one or two... but there were instances where it was a wrong word in a sentence (a few times) and it broke me out of the story and whatever moment I was reading. Aside from that, loved it.
This was a cute holiday book perfect for this time of year.
Nick was a dream. I love how he was committed to drive one hour each way to Shae’s house to set up the elf. Ruby and Harper (Shae’s daughters)were so cute. I loved their relationship with Connor (Nick’s son) in the beginning, then Connor didn’t have any more scenes and I was kind of disappointed.
In the beginning, Shae met Connor through Tinder and went out on one date with him. They decided to become friends and they were so close and like siblings together. Connor invites Shae and her girls to his father’s ranch on thanksgiving. Nick mentions the Elf on the Shelf to the girls and Shae is pissed. She tried to hide the Elf tradition from her daughters because it is exhausting and expensive. Nick feels bad and decides to set up the Elf himself.
Shae doesn’t accept help from anyone and it got a bit tiring with all her stubbornness and “I don’t need a man” attitude. Nick was perfect and he fell for her immediately. Nick feels like he knows her because Connor talks about her nonstop.
There was some drama with her ex in the end that got resolved quickly.
Overall this was a fun read.
