This was such a cute book! Is Nick possibly the most fictitious man I've ever read about because of how perfect he is for his girls? Yes. But I simply do not care how unrealistic these standards are, I want in!
Great communication between Nick and Shae and slow burn that is rewarded with a few spicy scenes and some rope! Yeehaw Cowboy.
Only complaint is the few fade-to-black scenes. Don't build me up if you can't take me home darling!

The premise of this book was great. I was honestly really excited for it… However, the more I read, the more I dreaded finishing it, I genuinely only finished it because I wanted to reach my reading goal for the year.
To start out, yes, I know this is a self-published book. I’m all for self published books, but you gotta keep up with the editing. There are so many spelling errors, missing punctuation, missing chapter headings (if you’re gonna do them for some chapters, for the love of god don’t just give up at the end of the book), as well as random, unexplained POV shifts in the middle of a chapter that last for a paragraph, maybe two.
While the grammatical errors are one thing, I was also a little thrown off by some of the MMCs actions.Nick knows about Shae’s past with her verbally abusive and manipulative ex-husband, yet, it seems for the better part of the book, he’s trying to manipulate her into liking him? Like, he keeps telling her things are going to be a certain way in the future, and he knows she doesn’t feel that way yet, and just says, “it’s okay. I’m there. You’ll get there.” Or some variation of that. Idk, to me it just seems very pushy.
Overall, the story was cute, it just wasn’t a hit for me.

shorter christmas novel, age gap, single mom AND single dad, best friend's dad
the story itself wasn't bad (from what i can recall), but it wasn't good enough for me to overlook the insane amount of errors this book had

Swooning!
This was incredible! As an elf on the shelf mom I loved every minute of this! I loved how Nick cared for Shae and her girls and how he showed her how much she deserved. I can’t even explain how top tier of a man he is! The grand gestures and understanding he shows to all of them is just so thoughtful. This is so much deeper than just a silly little Christmas book. This is a story that will pull on your heartstrings and give you all the feels! I don’t know how I’ll recover from this one! I loved it so much! 5 stars for sure!
