This was such a sweet read!!! I loved Shae's character development. Her character really resonated with me because I also have a really hard time accepting help. I also appreciated that the kids were part of the story and not just there when it was convenient to the plot. Nick is a 12/10 book boyfriend and definitely swoon worthy. I also appreciated seeing Abbie and Damien again. Also, there was no third act break up which is always a win in any book!

Everyone deserves a Nick Finch for Christmas.

This was a fun holiday read and I liked the single parent discussions, it was super cute!

3.5/5🌶️, MF, CR, single parents, Christmas, slowburn, standalone, part of a series, KU

As a mother who has actively avoiding doing the Elf of the Shelf due to all the other Christmas magic shenanigans I have to do and felt a tiny bit of guilt over it, this book hit close to home right from the start. The MMC swooping in and taking care of the elf and alleviating some of the stress of parenting was like a dream come true. I appreciated that the MMC didn’t completely take over the FMC’s problems or family but was respectful of her time and space. I loved that he was patient, telling her he was all in but giving her time to emotionally open up and accept what he was offering. I especially liked that there wasn’t a third act breakup and the couple communicated. Then, after all the caretaking and help with parenting, this MMC has the audacity to be one of what is becoming my favourite types of MMCs in the bedroom. He is a bit bossy and demanding, but in a way that still puts the FMC in control. He is asking her to seek her pleasure and be more selfish, and asking her to give him control, not demanding it. There was a lot of talk about how when he is in charge it’s because she wants him to be, and how she can take back control at any time. Overall, I really enjoyed this single parent, Christmas book.
