Wow, this book was everything I wanted and more.

This was my first book from Brianna Remus and Of the Stars and Sea was my first pirate book too and I absolutely loved it. This book captivated me from the first page. The plot was such a fun time, it was adventurous and gripping with soft hearted themes throughout it as well. Rowenya the FMC was such a feirce and fearless character but also complex and had her insecurities she was battling with.

Grayson Tyde is such a swoon worthy MMC that also has his complexities. The way this man is so ruthless and feared among most yet will do anything to protect Rowenya from the moment he first saw her. The banter between them was fantastic, the stuff this man says to her was toe curling. This was a beautiful slow burn with just the right amount of spice.

The imagery you get throughout this book is some of the best I've read. it is beautiful and ethereal and you feel like you're right there with them in amongst the storms or in the beautiful crystal filled caverns.

I loved every minute of this book, I didn't want to put it down and I want to go back to being in the ship with them. I can't wait to see where this story goes. I need the next book asap as I need to know what happens after that insane cliffhanger of and ending.

I received an ARC of this book and I am leaning an honest review.

I very much enjoyed reading this book. It caught me right at the beginning when it jumped straight into action and I kept wanting to go back to reading to find out what happens next with Rowenya and Grayson.

The story has beautiful poetic language and I especially appreciated how a lot of the metaphors and similes have something to do with the sea and water. It was so clever since it’s written from the point of view of the FMC who is a pirate.

The chemistry between the main characters is working its magic; you can feel the tension, the attraction, the works. Some of the dialogue between them early in the book seemed a little cringe, but later their banter is funny and sexy.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see much magic on the page. It is supposed to be a magical world full of different magical creatures but they’re mostly mentioned or appear very briefly in the story. Some hints about Grayson’s magic are there and I have some theories about who he is (which I will keep to myself).

There is one more thing that was bugging me, and that was all the euphemisms for vagina. Just call it what it is, you don’t need to give it special names, it’s not your pet.

Overall, it was a great book and I would definitely read the next book in the series to find out what else had the author in her sleeve for these two!

This was an action-packed pirate romantasy with an immortal MMC and a FMC in her thirties that I couldn't put down! I wanted a LOT more worldbuilding/magick explanations and more details of characters' backstories, though the pirate/ship parts felt pretty authentic from what I could tell. There were a few typos that took me out of the story, though they were minor. I did appreciate that the spice was obvious enough that it could be easily skipped, and the ending was very bold - definitely setting up the next book in the series. There were a few lines, especially from the MMC to the FMC, that felt intentionally placed to be highlighted rather than natural dialogue, but I almost didn't mind.  Overall, I enjoyed this a lot and would definitely recommend to people who want to live out an explosive pirate fantasy!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

I put this book on my TBR based off a reel from the author! She said she wished Padme had joined Anakin on the dark side and so she wrote that story but made it pirates. The vibes she was going for was when Will and Elizabeth were in their pirate era in Pirates of the Carribean. This book DELIVERED on those vibes. It was everything I was expecting it to be AND more! The world building was amazing. The characters are incredible! The banter had me swooning or laughing. Kicking my feet and giggling. I cried like 4 chapters in. I expect many more tears throughout the series and to be in for a wild ride!

Holy freaking hell!! this was absolutely fantastic!! The perfectly done worldbuilding, the enemies to lovers, the characters!! this was incredible!!

Okay so there's lots to talk about so let's start with the world building. Just absolute fantasy goodness. You immediately get thrust into this high fantasy world of pirates and magic, and its done perfectly!! Just that bit of confusion as you learn bits and pieces of the world!! Chef's kiss!!

Secondly, the characters, were amazing!! You can't help but love Rowenya!! she's the perfect vicious, broken and feisty fmc to root for!! you feel all her emotions, conflictions and pain as you get to know her character. Like she's one of my top 5 fmcs now!! I love her!! Grayson was the perfect mmc, possessive, dark & brooding, with a good heart underneath. everything you can love!!

The enemies to lovers romance, was just perfect. Knives to the throat and all!! the perfect amount of loathing before we get to romance!! I love to see it and eat it up every time!! perfection at its finest in this book!!

The plot was fantastic!! I love that everything hinged on this one special treasure with all the lore to it!! It was fascinating to read!!

The writing was so good!! I love that the fantasyness of the wording wasn't overdone and some of the quotes were beautiful!! Just all round good writing!!

Overall, one of the best books I've read this year and I thoroughly enjoyed it and I want to say a massive thankyou to the author for giving me the opportunity to read this as an ARC!!

This was brilliant and bold and I can't wait for the second book!!

I was lucky to be able to receive this book as an ARC, and this review is my own thoughts of the book.

Of The Stars and Sea is portrayed as a Pirate Romantasy, but unfortunately it didn't hit the mark. It started off pirate-esk and blundering, sweary and violent with a strong FMC but it just kinda fizzled out half way through. The FMC I feel like lost all of her personality, and it felt very much like just a romance book.

I had some very high hopes for this book, but there was no world building making the story hard to follow, and so many questions left unanswered.

That ending! If I wasn't reading on my Kindle, I would have thrown this book at that ending scene! This was such a good book and the second half sucked me even further in and I couldn't put it down. When this was described as a book for someone who loved the Mummy and Pirates of the Caribbean, I knew I had to read it!

Rowenya and Grayson are such good characters, and I was loving their banter all the way through the book. I adore that the main characters in this pirate romantasy are actually grown adults - over 30 - and actual decent communication once they finally open up that door!

This is such a good book that I can see myself rereading a couple more times at least, as soon as I partially get over that ending anyway!
