A Time to Kill is one of my all-time favorite books. A Time for Mercy was like catching up with old friends. ♥️

A good engaging read, but some unnecessary repetitiveness and meandering storyline.

So glad Grisham has returned to the courtroom thriller, what he does best, and to Jake Brigance!

In my view this is one of JG’s best. Even though it went into great detail it was pacy, gripping and a real page-turner. I’ve read a couple of his later books and thought perhaps he was going off the boil. But this is proof that he’s improving with age.

Glad to get back to Jake Brigance and the crew. Loved it!

You cannot really go wrong with a John Grisham novel. I have been reading his work for years. However, I found this book very lengthy and at times a little too much detail that did not really increase my interest or add much to the character. I felt he may have been struggling with with what details to add or eliminate, and decided to add all of them.

I hadn’t read the other Jake Brigance novels but am familiar with “A Time to Kill” due to the movie. The book starts off pretty slow - I found myself meandering through until the last third. The story is good - but I found the ending to be a big anti-climactic as the resolution did not fully tie up the main plot point. However, for fans of courtroom and legal dramas. The book will not disappoint.

Really enjoyed the Jake Brigance series. Think I may have likes this one, #3 the best! Also loved the narrator on all 3 audio books.
