Plot or Character Driven:
Plot
This book is dated, offensive, and fucked up lol. It starts off in SIDE CHARACTER'S pov, a waitress who is serving all the athletes (I can't remember what sport, football maybe?? I think it's football in Chicago). The waitress is set on having sex with all the players. The main character Calvin 'Cal' is turning 36 so the guys want to surprise him with a "classy" hooker so the waitress agrees to find someone to play that role in exchange for getting with the young quarterback Tucker.
For some reason she goes to Jane Darlington, a genius physicist, who complains that her husband of >10 years left her for a 20-something. All she really wants is a baby but the ridiculous thing in this book is that Jane doesn't want to use a sperm bank because too many smart men donate and she's worried her baby would be a genius freak given how brilliant she is. She wants a dumb man to "balance" her brains out wtffffff lol. So she agrees to dress up and pretend to be a hooker for cal.
He fucks her TWICE in 2 separate encounters where she's bone dry, he doesn't do any foreplay at all, and that becomes a "game" between them later that she never gets naked or if she does its in the dark when he can't see her body.
Of course she gets pregnant but he finds out and he's pissed because his own mother entrapped his intelligent doctor dad in the same way (she got pregnant at 15 and had to drop out of school). He marries Jane and plans for them to have a sham marriage to appease the press before divorcing and they would raise their child separately. Of course the forced proximity causes them to fall for each other eventually. Jane also befriends his aunt? grandma? they all live in the hill billy area of Tennessee or something.
The book randomly switches into his parent's pov which was weird af. His mom, Amber Lynn, is finally fed up and attempts to leave his dad so a side plot of this book becomes them reconciling.
The third act breakup is that Cal had told his agent to find dirt on her and his agent took that to mean try to destroy her. His agent had a play where Cal would make a large donation to their company and the sexist head physicist, who has problems with Jane being a woman, would fire her. Jane discovers this plot and leaves Cal even though by this point they're fairly happy together. Kind of zoned out at this point but obviously they got back together.

I spent quite a lot of this book wishing to Gibbs slap one person or another in this book.
For a genius, the lady physicist is a real dumb ass. And Mr big deal football man is just a dick. Add in all the other like se cannons surrounding them and Gibbs would have a sore hand.
Interestingly enough, the book is hard to put down.
