This book took me awhile to finish and I think that if I made been more attentive to it I would have enjoyed it more. We meet Katria who is living with her cruel stepmother and sister. Her father is feared lost at sea and she now has no one now to look after her. Her stepmother informs her that she is to be married off for money, as that is the only thing that she will be good for.
When a husband is chosen she is taken to a large manor and left to her own devises. She is told that there are several rules that she most follow. If she can then she will want for nothing and be safe. When she meets her new husband she instantly is drawn to him and he treats her only with kindness. One of the rules is that she is not to look at him but that does not deter her from wanting to get to know her.
As the reader you know that there is something larger going on and there are clues that are left for you to discover. I liked the characters in this one a bit more than Deal with an Elf King because the love interest was not as standoffish.
I am excited to continue on with the series and I learned recently that there is going to be another book coming out next year!

I enjoyed this SO much more than A Deal With The Elf King!! I predicted what was gonna happen but it didn't make it any less enjoyable!! Katria and Devian are so cute together and I enjoyed that this book had more action than the last one!

A very pleasant read. Definitely an ending I saw coming from the start, but the true point was Katria finding her inner strength and overcoming childhood trauma. This is definitely a light, fluffy read.
Also, one of my favorite lines EVER, "His lips curve like a scythe, and I am ready for harvest." Rawr!
