Recommended by a friend since she knows my obsession with Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire is really bad at times and figured I would pick up more influences in this story because of it. Not gonna mention them but this story is definitely worth the read. So much happens with them falling in love that you figure around the 40% mark the story is wrapping up for a good finish but nope you still have alot of story to read. Kinda sad we didn't hear more of Frey's reaction to Finnie's world or get a sneak peek at what Snojfn* has been up to in Finnie's world. Still an enjoyable story so I'm gonna keep reading.

Update: I've read this book at minimum, 10 times, so my previous review was clearly a lie. Frey and Finnie are THE BEST!
Although you know I love Kristen Ashley, I think this may be my first non-5 star review. I loved the story, loved Frey and Finnie. By sometimes descriptions and all that got in the way of the story for me.

Just too long for my taste. The conflict was mostly resolved early on, with more introduced along the way… my interest was lost knowing I was only 60% through. Exact same issue I had with another book by this author so I think their books just aren’t for me.
I wanted to make a very eloquent and persuasive review .... then I realized I just don't have the patience for that. So I will just say what I think, bad grammar included, and you can take it or leave it...
oh!
SPOILER and RANT WARNING
...
The hero is completely sexist and patronizing. His entire life, he has been this special little snowflake. Yes, his family is terrible but the dude commands dragons and elves, who are super powerful and rare in their own right. And let's not forget his own personal crew of extremely hot masculine strong seamen. From this logic, you can kinda understand why this dude thinks he can control or command everybody including the heroine ... because he usually can

A-freaking-mazing! (by the by KA makes me cuss and I dont cuss, ever! However we are doing our best to censor our wording here.) Kristen Ashley how much do I love you let me count the ways... ok so I wont really count them but that's aside from the point.
If your reading the reviews for this book then you will find that a lot of people quote “She waits for me at windows and buys me dragons. There are reasons we walk this earth, I’m coming to realize mine.” Yeah, it's a nice thing to say and all but before you read the book you don't truly understand how HUGE and meaningful this quote is. And if you get far enough into this book and that line doesn't move you then you should just give up! There are a lot of parts that tug at you heart but if that one doesn't then noting in this book will.
I'll also say that I LOVED Frey! He is right up there on the top five list of dream guys. He's not perfect and that would just be boring but when he get's that he's wrong he admits it and more than that he goes after what he want's. Not saying that he doesn't completely screw things up as a result of going after what he want's but his heart was in the right place when he made those big mistakes and honestly he was just being a guy. You can get mad at him and pitch a fit about it, but even though the decisions that he made were sometimes wrong, to have that kind of Love from any guy? Yeah, you get mad then you get your shit together and get over it.
On to Seoafin, and by the way that is now on the list of name's for my children, you have to love her LOVE for life. If the opening lines about her past adventures don't give you a hint about how she lives then the next few chapters do as you watch her embrace everything will. Finnie has a rare love for life and adventure that was taught to her from her parents. I enjoyed her fearlessness and straight forward attitude as she came upon various obstacles throughout the book. The only thing that I would criticize is that she should have pressed Frey more to finish conversations instead of letting him say that he knew or had everything in hand, not saying that it would have changed anything but she should have pressed.
Over all this book had everything I could have wanted in a Fantasy book. Elves, Dragons, talking animals, witches, danger and secret plots, and most of all romance! on a 1-5 rating I would give this book 6.5 stars! Love, LOve, LOVE IT!

This was just.... ugh. I honestly don't know why I tortured myself by finishing it. The writing was super basic, the main character speaks like a 16-year-old valley girl, and the love interest is so obnoxiously caveman and NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE. No, thank you.
