“you’re too beautiful to be real” MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY 💗 this book was so good!!
i loved the childhood acquaintances to reluctant allies dynamic in this. their tension was developed so perfectly 😮💨 and the YEARNING omg 🙂↕️ patrick colson is everything, he gives tommy shelby vibes, but dare i say, even more tortured and driven?? i loved nina’s philosophical one liners. i was surprised by theo, he was such a complex character. i’m excited to find out the direction his storyline goes in book two. i found one of the major plot twist to be pretty predictable early on, but i really did not expect the ending to as hard as it did 👀 the political intrigue and class war sub plot definitely fueled my pace while reading. i enjoyed the elemental magic and hope more of the alchemy side of the magic system is explored more in the next book.

This book has a slow start, but once it kicks off, it really kicks off. The spice is slow burn, but once it catches fire is very well done. The banter, the politics, the world and magic systems are all fantastic.

Devoured! This was so freaking good!!! This is a dark gritty worlds filled with a caste system that divides those with magic to those without and those without really go without. I loved how this story starts with our FMC as a young girl and we get to see her fate unfold and the author handled the time jumps really well. The story really picks up in the last 50% and i was biting my nails with the secrets and twists unfolding! The writing is really beautiful and the connection between these characters! I really felt pulled into this world. And let's talk about Patrick- damn this man melted my heart! I loved the Peaky Blinders vibes and the way this community comes together to fight! I was on the edge of my seat - that ending!!! Gah cant wait for book 2! This felt like the perfect blend of Fantasy and Romance to me!! Will be a fav read of the year!
