I have mixed feelings about this one.
I didn't hate it. In fact, if I were to base the rating on enjoyment alone, this gets a 4/5. However, once I had time to step back and look at the story for what it is, I realized that it fell into the 'ok' category. It was good, but nothing special.
I have to give it up to this author duo because they know how to write their heroes. Carter Clynes was painted to be this playboy who loves his share of women but he was written in a way that I understood and even ended up loving his character. Don't get me wrong because I didn't hate Kendall. I actually had so much respect for her courage to be spontaneous in hopes to find herself. But honestly, I felt like she got the shorter end of the stick in terms of character depth.
The romance was a quick one. A classic case of the insta-love trope. Surprisingly though, I wasn't mad at that at all. For me, it had the right amount of tension with them holding off from each other at various points in the story that somehow trumped the fact that it is an insta-love. However, the romance had this time jump that, at first, seemed necessary but eventually lost control when it came to pacing. This book is a short one so the too fast of a pace in the latter part became more prominent because of that, and not in the best way.
Overall, this was still a worthwhile read. If you're looking for an easy (with quite a bit of heaviness sprinkled all throughout) read to fill your time, this book is definitely worth considering. This author duo remains to be a go to for those times when I don't know what book to pick up next.

Story was cute and I enjoyed it up until the end. I thought the "Shock" value or I guess "drama?" that happened was unnecessary and took me right out of the story.
