I’ve read several books from these authors. I’ve yet to read one I don’t like. This is just a fairy tale romance with no significant drama or angst. As typical, the third act break up is predictable and avoidable but they all usually are so I don’t fault the story. I listened to the audio book and it was a nice easy listen while I worked.
This was an easy quick summer read. I really liked both main characters. The storyline moved and the romance was steamy. Will come back to this author.
Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward have struck again. Please never ever stop writing because I will never stop reading. I loved every word. Could not put Carter and Kendall's story down for anything. PERFECTION!
I read this in one sitting. I really loved the whole first part of the book. I even laughed out loud at some of the shit Carter said. He was a funny guy. And, a sweetheart. Of course, he was damaged, but I loved that too. He met Kendall, fell in love and changed his ways. You couldn't ask for a better guy. Kendall, on the other hand, walked away when the going got tough. And, it did get tough, but he loved her and wanted to make a life with her. That was when the book lost me. I felt like the whole ex being pregnant storyline and them two just happening to sit together was bullshit. Then they are apart for almost a year. For nothing. Because the baby wasn't his. I understand she said she had to find who she is was, yada yada, but it was still bullshit. She left him. Anyways, it worked out in the end, but that whole part definitely took my enjoyment of the book down. I really enjoy the style of writing from these two authors. The book flowed and I never sat it down.
You cannot go wrong with a Vi Keeland and Peneople Ward collaboration. This was light and super fun and sexy. loved it!!
I'd give a 3.25. He was too perfect for my liking but besides that, it was alright. I enjoyed the different countries and etc but meh, she didn't deserve him haha.
4 stars
Have you ever read a book where you look at the amount left because you think you're near the end but you're only halfway through?
This was such a book for me. But it wasn't a bad thing. No, I got way more than I expected and I loved it so very much!
I thought I was in for some light, romantic comedy but this story turned out to be so much more.
I can definitely recommend this book to everyone.

I have been hearing buzz about this book all over the place. When Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward write together it is pure magic. One of my favorites of theirs is Stuck-Up Suit. If you haven't read that then go check out my review here. I love love loved that book. If you liked that one then this one, dare I say it, is even better than stuck up suit.

I went into this one blind. I don't think I even read the blurb. Now that I have read the blurb it kind of gives away a lot of what happens in the book. If you read it don't worry there is still so much to experience, but going in blind without knowing what will happen will be much better. Now try dilemma is trying to tell you how great the book is, without giving anything away.
I will say this. The chemistry between the two characters was so hot. They were really good together. I love a good playboy book and as the title suggest, he was just that. But the refreshing thing is that despite the manwhore status, there was soooo much more to his character. He had his flaws as any great character does, but his redeeming qualities were so sweet. Usually I love a one sided POV, but Carter's POV was super necessary. Once you get to explore his character it will warm your heart.
