I really appreciated being able to learn about Malcolm X through a variety of perspectives and time frames. His life although quite controversial, teaches us to always question what we believe and that it is okay to change your personal philosophy as you learn.

It's an amazing book, written in a very interesting way. I listened to the audiobook by Lawrence Fishburn, and his narration was excellent. As a white atheist from Europe, I could not relate to much of the book, but I suppose that that is in fact the very point that Malcolm tried to make. I wonder what he would think of today's world.
An absolutely fascinating, must-read book. I read it once back in college and came back to re-read it, and after years of work fighting for racial justice in the political world, I find his words have even more depth, inspiration, and brilliance. If we had more leaders like him in social justice, politics, academia, and journalism, we'd be so much further in the journey for racial justice. Sadly, the ones like him are few and far between.
