authors be like “let me write a great first chapter to get you hooked and then write a hundred more really really bad chapters after that to make you want to stab your eyes out.” honestly hated everything about this book once i got like 15 percent of the way through but here we are. racking up the 1 star reviews like it’s my damn job.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot lately with my thriller choices. All those beautiful souls that read ARC’s filter out the turds for me and I can’t thank them enough for all that hard work. By following them closely on Goodreads & social media I can weave my way through the endless number of thrillers that are constantly being released into the book world. 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙒𝙞𝙛𝙚 has received a lot of hype from reviewers I trust so I pulled the trigger and cashed in a credit on Audible (my credits are precious; I nurture them and hold on to them for dear life). I found out the hype is real! Guys & gals you need to read this book ASAP. I was hoodwinked. I’m not ashamed to admit it..I love being tricked by an author. I’ve read like 75 thrillers so far this year. At this point I’m a pretty suspicious reader. I don’t trust ANYONE, not even rom-coms. Everyone has become a suspect in every genre I read. If you follow me at all and trust my humble opinion, I urge you to read this book. All I’m going to say about the plot is this: 𝙎𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙣𝙚𝙢𝙮 starring Julia Roberts. But better. Read via Audible. Length: 9 hrs, 37 mins

Dear Wife: Not what you think
Story was cat and mouse with a twist or two? An enjoyable read to pass the day as time goes by.

oh no! another DNF!
Catching up on some backlist thrillers before the 2025 releases start rolling out. So, some of these are bound to be DNFs. I'm clearing them off my tbr so I'm happy either way. I wanted to try this author one more time, but I don't think she (and a lot of domestic thrillers in general) is for me. next!

3.5
A lot of Gone Girl vibes. A woman on the run with her husband as the main suspect. There are more twists and turns, but I can't help but make the comparison.
It goes without saying that this wasn't as good as Gone Girl, but it was entertaining and I would recommend it.

This book was a real page turner with a surprise ending! Very suspenseful.
I liked the idea for the plot of this book, but I disliked almost every single character, even Beth who the audience is definitely supposed to be sympathetic towards. I found her to be obtuse about the world, she would comment on how her committing crimes was for necessity and then would say negative things about the ‘thieves and crackheads’ in ATL, also the comment where she is like ‘it took seven years of me being married to an abusive cop for me to realize you can’t trust the police’ REALLY? I mean come on
So good!! Was not expecting that twist at the end though omg
I really enjoyed this book. I don’t want to say anything for fear of giving it away, but the writing was good, the story was interesting, and the characters were fairly good. I definitely something recommend it - good read!
