Gut wrenching. Ellen Hopkins does it, yet again.

didn’t finish the book for numerous reasons. first, when i was younger and discovering books, i adored tilt by ellen hopkins and i enjoyed how long her books were, along with how easy they were to follow. BUT my issue with this book
is probably bad on my end but i just hate the amount of hyper-sexualization of the teenage girl .. MAYBEEE thats on me and it is a YA book but idk ,, the abuse father and family dynamic was really raw though and i appreciated the realism i guess this book just wasn’t for me ( i also randomly selected it so thats on me

Great book until the end, which for me felt rushed instead of intense, and jumbled instead of tragic. But the lead character was real and raw and very, very much worth reading.

Glad I read this in sync with Banned Books Week -- books like this need to be read, and often, and especially by those who need them most.

Painful and earnest. I am glad that there is a sequel as it left at a very distressing place.
