What a downer of a book...so much potential ruined by terrible pacing.

Main point of the book: there is such a thing as too much technology...great! The bad part? The reader is beaten in the head with it for about 500 pages. It's just depressing by the end, and all things are resolved in like a page?

Still, I finished it, which says something, but man was it disappointing. Do NOT recommend.

I really enjoyed this and accidentally read it before reading The Circle. It was unnecessarily long though. I think that’s why I’m giving 4 stars. Yikes I’m living the life of the every. Finishing the book and immediately judging it lol. Onto The Circle …

Стоит почитать, если понравилась Сфера, однако некоторые установленные в первом романе факты автор подзабыл ко второму. Это типичная антиутопия о мире, где вполне можно отдохнуть с месяц, а потом станет скучно и тесно. Не такой уж там и ужас.

Stark angefangen, hatte zwischendurch leider einige Längen, aber das Ende hab ich geliebt. Erinnert mich, wie der erste Teil, sehr an "1984".

Beim Circle waren es die Parolen wie SECRETS ARE LIES, hier ist es jetzt vor allem das ganze Ding mit der Untergrundorganisation und dem Spion bzw. Rebell innerhalb des diktatorischen Konstrukts. Habe am Ende geschrien, als alles aufgelöst wurde und mochte die Referenz sehr. Ansonsten war es zum Ende hin eben leider sehr langatmig...
