Great book! Love how the clans work together towards the end of the book. I love firestar being a leader, and the later half is great! Great book to finish the prophecies begins arc.

like omg soooo good!! it would have been 5 stars but i felt like
tigerstar’s death was too underwhelming, like i get it but i wish there was more to it. same with the battle i wish it was drawn out more, more details on the deaths etc.

This action packed finale is my favorite Warrior book. It has suspense and tragedy. A quality book from a quality author.

this shit more gory than a god damn horror book

It's done. I'm left wondering what the people in this land think, seeing bat-sh*t cats with sharpened dogs teeth hanging from their collars and capping their claws.
But my kid loved it and is now insisting we need to read the next series.
Stay tuned for my inevitable breakdown.

4.3 stars
this ATEEEEE!!! 100000% the best one of the series
i love how we manage to fit so much into this book yet it didn't feel rushed?? anyways let's dive in
so i have to say i loved firestars mini panic attacks the entire book, i mean sucks to be him but it was nice to actually see a protagonist who struggles with leadership and doubts themself, rather than just "WHIPEE IM A NATURAL BORN TALENT!!!" who doesn't feel pressure at all. it just felt nice for some realism for once! like wow!! someone who actually struggles with the INSANE pressure put on them!! that's crazy!!
and i loved seeing into a leaders mind, like you dont quite realise how tough their role is until it gets to firestars pov and we see how isolated he is and how even with the cat he trusts and loves the most (sandstorm, not the fucking pedophile spottedleaf) he can never truly be honest with her
my heart shattered when stormfur was killed :( i kinda forgot all about tigerclan and all the horrible stuff that they did and put the cats through like it was absolutely wild
but it also reminds me why i like 2 of my favourite characters: leopardstar and blackfoot!! i can already hear the comments from zali, but hear me out please!!! i do love some morally grey characters and i love their slight redemption arcs as they try to become better (cant say blackstar ever gets there, but it's the thought that counts) but they still remain grey, rather than losing their entire personality!! leopardstar i love because she is just SUCH a little diva, and she fights for power but she still manages to hold her own even though she's embarassed and loses her clan. like she never loses her personality or stops being a diva!! i think that's why i like the early warrios books so much, because cats actually had personalitys!! you get to vision of shadows and it's just the fucking same thing over and over again. anyways, blackfoot is basically for the same reasons and i always feel so bad for him. i need to rank my top cats tho (a few include: leopardstar, blackfoot/star, tallstar, longtail, yellowfang, ravenpaw, mapleshade and that's all i can think of)
one thing that pisses me off is that firestar always chooses to be a good fucking person?? NO! KILL DARKSTRIPE!!!! WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU ALLOW HIM TO LEAVE, KNOWING HE'LL GO BE ANOTHER ASSEST FOR TIGERSTAR? firestar made some dumbass desicions this book, like please get a grip mate!! every time an apprentice lost their mentor and someone had to be put in place (it only happened twice, fernpaw and the other loser, but still) HE GAVE IT TO SOME OTHER CAT RATHER THAN SANDSTORM??? GIVE HER AN APPRENTICE ALREADY!!!
also it was so out of pocket how tigerstar just casually died in 0.2 seconds?? like all this build up to his and firestars final fight, (which we have to wait until OMEN OF THE STARS to get) and then he's just casually killed three days before the actual battle?? and tell me why the clans took the three days rather than rushing bloodclan on a random morning so they couldn't prepare?? pissed me off. and so did firestars whole last minute ephiphany to go get leopardstar to fight with them. LIKE NO SHIT?? WHY DID IT TAKE YOU SO LONG TO REMEMBER SHE EXISTS AND MIGHT CARE ABOUT THE FOREST SHE LIVES IN?
also i hate to say it but the end fight DRAGGEDDDDDDD! like just fucking kill scourge already, please and thank you! (though scourge is actually an icon and i love when he casually kills tigerstar just as a power move) but it just dragged on and on and on and for some reason during every fight firestar is untouched for a good minute and he just watches the cats around him fighting whilst going "welp, what could i possibly do now?"
the sweetest moment ever in this book series is when all the apprenties fight together and avenge whitestorm. OH MY GOD ADD WHITESTORM TO MY LIST OF FAVOURITES HE DESERVED BETTER!!!!
anyways, the nostalgia will always be there for me with this series and it's like the best thing ever, i wish they all coulda kept the same vibe this one has

I'm upgrading this one for nostalgia's sake from a 3 star to a 4 star.
As an ending to a series goes, this one hits a lot of good notes. There are real consequences to the decisions being made, and the subject matter is a bit darker and more thought-provoking than some of the middle books.
That being said, I really wish that
Spoiler the scourge arc had been separated from Tigerstar's death. To have the main villain of the entire series die without Firestar playing any role felt a bit rushed. If the dog arc had been moved up earlier and book five had ended with Tigerstar's death + Scourge emerging as the new threat, it might have given the reader more processing time, but as is, it's hard to feel any significant emotions about a villain who is introduced in the last half of the final book.

Really glad that I was able to revisit this series after so long away. Definitely more holes and character issues than I remembered, but still a fun read with some solid lessons about friendship and making hard decisions about following the "rules" compared with doing what's right.
