Reading this book felt like visiting old friends, and adding a new one to the group.

I was engrossed in Sydney and Preston’s story from the very first page.
Since meeting him in The Doctor,
Preston has evolved from an angry, resentful and selfish young man into a sweet, caring and sexy guy anyone would like to call theirs.

Sydney really spoke to me.
Her need to be a good girl.
a pleaser.
The most perfect daughter/sister/student/ she could be..
Anyone would crack under that type of pressure, but she managed to both set and push boundaries for herself, while still trying to maintain a respectful relationship with her family. It’s a fine line, but I enjoyed the authenticity of the way their dynamic was portrayed.

This book was easily a 5⭐️ read for me. The chemistry, mutual respect, and communication between the main characters made this an enjoyable and mature love story.

4.5 rounded up. It took me a while to also not see Preston as he was before, but this was a great redemption arc. Absolutely loved Sydney and how she NEVER FALTERED and always stood her ground even when she was doubting herself. She's probably my fave FMC of the series! It also has one of the best endings in the whole series so far, imo.

I like that it also didn't have too much on the earlier neighborhood drama because I legitimately have forgotten what that side chara's name is right now. The drama from Sydney's family was more than neough, but not too much that I got overly frustrated.
