I loved this book. Not only was it exceptionally well-written, but I loved how it gave a behind-the-scenes view of ten critical days in President Obama’s second term. While the book was full of hope throughout, I found myself aching for the eight years we had under President Obama’s stellar leadership.

While reading, I was rooting for Cody and his team. I could relate to his sentiments about imposter syndrome. I laughed at his jokes, especially when he picked on President Obama and made him laugh. I admired how much he loves his wife. I loved hearing the stories about his friendships with former coworkers (and many of my favorite MSNBC commentators) and imagining how fun it would be to hang out with all of them.

This book left me with more hope for the future than I’ve felt since 2016. I needed that, so thank you.

*I received an advance copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much for the wonderful book.

I really wanted to like this, but it was just okay.

5 blinding, blazing stars. One of my top reads of the year. It gave my chills, made my cry, but mostly, filled me with hope. Eloquently written account of 10 incredible days in our history.

An uplifting and inspiring read. Now I need to go watch the full Eulogy after the shooting at the AME church in Charleston.

This is the closest thing to a real “West Wing” show or documentary on life in the White House that you could hope for, all in book form.

10/10, would recommend!

Remembering Hope.

The story of one of the most memorable days in the Obama presidency when gay marriage was legalized and Obama sang Amazing Grace for the eulogy in Charleston. Feels a little like the West Wing with a hefty dose of Obama nostalgia.
