This plot line was so drug out. These plot points could have easily been condensed into a shorter book and and still gotten all the the development and points across. With that being said- I still do love the story line and characters. This series feels much more thought-out than Blood and Ash. Sera and Nyktos genuinely make me so happy when they are together and where this book leaves off makes me hopeful for a solid ending of this series to hopefully improve how I see the development in Blood and Ash happening.

I did like it but there was sooooo much context being thrown out and sometimes it was hard to follow. I also thought her time with Kolis was kind of drawn out and repetitive. Horrific for sure but for me just a bit drawn out. Loved her and ashes reunion and I’m glad he ascended her. The love was loving.
ALSO I have a theory that sotorias soul will be poppy’s in the last book. Now knowing that poppy has the red hair green eyes and freckles it just has to be her. Plus she alluded it to it so many times. Makes me nervous though because I love poppy and I don’t want to see her die for kolis either.

Well this book could’ve been an email. Disappointing especially because I loved the first two books. I don’t know how many times JLA needs to repeat Sera’s thought process, but it could’ve been 200 pages less without it. Also, using modern language in this time period is just - poor writing and really takes away from the character.
