This one was off to a great start the beginning really pulls you and peaks your interest in how life will go for Kat after losing her memory. For the first half I just knew her sister Jude had something to do with the car accident and she was trying to cover it up. The deeper we get into the novel even Kat questions Jude’s intentions and behavior. Kat develops a bit of paranoia whenever she’s around Jude so this is where things got good.
Now what blew it for me was everything involving King Bash and this group he was developing. I honestly didn’t get any of that and enjoyed the book way better when I thought Jude was on some shady ish 😂 it was giving this good twin evil twin vibe. Once the secrets begin to unravel so does the flow of the book.
The chapters were short which worked well. But the timelines jump back and forth so much some parts were confusing. The author did great building up the suspense and tension though. The reader never really knows if Jude is being truthful with Kat so you’re left guessing until the last few chapters.
Overall, this was an interesting read it just didn’t hit the mark like I wanted. The book cover was creepy which made me want to read it. The plot took some unexpected turns so I think some readers might like the book. Special thanks to the author & @henryholtbooks for my gifted copy‼️

I opted to abandon the book as I found it dull and excessively slow-paced. The characters failed to captivate me, resulting in an overall unenjoyable reading experience.

This is an enjoyable thriller, but really nothing extraordinary. I love anything about cults, but felt like the cult elements could have been fleshed out a little better. I was overall just a little confused ab the entire premise of the cult to begin with. Other than that, it’s a very unique idea and def not a waste of time to pick up.
DNF’d at 60%.
When Kat wakes from a two week coma and only remembers the face of the woman standing in the room with her—her twin sister Jude—it is suddenly up to Jude to help rebuild Kat’s knowledge of their lives up to that point. But is she being strictly honest with Kat, and if not, what truths are she trying to hide?
Told in two separate timelines and shifting between Jude and Kat, Where You End was an interesting story, for what I got through, but the number of triggers in this book was insane, so I needed to take a biiiiig step back from it for my own mental health. I highly advise going into this book with the knowledge that these triggers are present, and I hope that the published version of the text lists these in some ways to alert readers.
CONTENT WARNINGS:
Cult activity/behavior, abandonment, sexual abuse, sexual abuse of minors, violence, MLM activity, suicide, blood, manipulation of minors, mention of car accident, mental illness, pedophilia, incest/inappropriate acts of related adult to minor, gaslighting, child abuse, emotional abuse, injury and injury detail, medical trauma, grief, mentioned death of a parent.
