WOWWWW. This is my first Danya Kukafka and what an introduction omg!! This book held my attention until the very last page, I don’t remember the last time I read something so good. The writing is absolutely fantastic and the characters are so incredibly fleshed out. I know some people didn’t enjoy this book bc they think that it was trying to “humanize” a serial killer but absolutely not! I did not feel that way at all while reading this. I think she does an amazing job of telling the story from the perspective of the victims and the perspective of agressor. The reality is that regardless of the actions of a serial killer in their mind they don’t see themselves as “bad people”, they may have did a bad thing but that’s all they see it as. They still see themselves as someone that is deserving of life and redemption and that’s a pill to swallow for us… normal people.
