Han is offered a job. A job worth 163 million credits. He just has to break into an impregnable vault. Han gather's up several other rogues to help him with this heist.
An interesting tale of a sort that I would not normally read. Perhaps a bit too much based on Ocean's 11. It even has 11 people involved in the heist. Honestly I don't remember the movie well enough to draw any other parallels, but it has the same general feel.

It’s a fun heist story with a nice twist. It was kind of strange reading a Star Wars book without Jedi or the Force playing a significant role, but not necessarily a negative. I enjoyed it being different from most other Star Wars books. There were a lot of side characters, so not all of them got much development, but I did particularly enjoy the parts about Winter. I always like Zahn’s books, and this one is no exception.
For a while, I read every Star Wars book that came out, but then they started coming out fast and furious and it was seemingly impossible to read one without having read the ten before it so I quit. I was intrigued by "Scoundrels" thought because it's a one-shot and it features Han Solo, my favorite Star Wars character. I really enjoyed it. It's basically Ocean's 11 starring Han. Han's offered a job that will set him and Chewie up for life if successful and he brings in a bunch of rogues and thieves to help him out. I particularly enjoyed being introduced to Winter, who is, of course, in Timothy Zahn's other Star Wars EU books. Quick, fun read.

The heist was fun and there were some unexpected friends! It took awhile to get where it was going but I'm glad I picked it up.
Rather a depressing caper-shot with all the best players in the galaxy played to little effect, and an ensemble cast which never lets any one voice or quirk shine. It's a pity, because Zahn was so well-known, and for good reason, for his sequel trilogy to the first three Star Wars. He had a knack for catching the characters of the canon denizens. Somehow, he lets all these fellows -- Han, Lando as well -- go flat as two day old ginger beer. Oy. And no amount to finagling and twiddling with plots can add zest to a dead-character'ed caper.
I wanted to like this Solo heist novel more, it was a bit long and I was not invested. Zahn is great Star Wars writer I am not sure what it was that didn't work. Served to get me excited for SOLO.
