emotional funny lighthearted medium-paced

read for the swoon sisters' book club liveshow: september 2022

this was just so cute and had me hooked. the writing and the characters were phenomenal and i loved it overall

I really enjoyed this book! I’m totally interested in seeing where Reese and Jason go from here. Definitely will be buying the other 3 books in this series.

i didn't want this to end

This was my first Christina Jones and I really enjoyed this.

This is about Reese and Jason. Reese is a grad assistant of her mom's Modern Black English course, and Jason is a student. They start off irritated at each other, but start to communicate more and slowly get feelings. I loved their progression in their relationship, and their ability to communicate through it.

Also I loved the disability rep. Reese is a vet and has a prosthetic. I loved how his disability wasn't made a "thing" or an issue. I also thought it was refreshing that he was a vet that didn't have PTSD. I know there are several vets that do and struggle with it. But not every vet does, and that was kind of refreshing to read.

Definitely want to read more from her in the future.

Listen CCJ doesn’t let me down. This was such a delightful romcom. Jason and Reese were so dang funny and I loved the way they came together. Although Jason coulda kept that fake-out towards the end, haha.

Christina Jones did an awesome job writing this book. Reese and Jason were the "IT" couple. I just loved the banter between them in the beginning and how they grew to fall in love with each other. One of my favorites aspects of the story is how the family was discussed in the story and how both Reese and Jason reacted to their families. Overall really good story and I highly recommend this as a read. Until next time....Kisses

i’ve been saying this since i read i think i might love you (also by christina jones and is set in the same place), I WANT TO LIVE IN THEIR WORLD😩

this… THIS is how a five star romance read is supposed to make you feel. giddy, bubbly, lovesick, hopeful even

this book hit all the beats for me. funny, romantic and (mostly) lighthearted with the right amount of spice and perfect banter

i must emphasize the greatness of the banter and humor in this book. the banter was stellar literally up until the very end, and i found my self laughing out loud many time while reading (my throat is hoarse from laughing while writing this review because i just finished this book😭)

i love reese and jason so much💗🥰, even more so because they have other things going on and not just each other. the tension that was built between was just *chef’s kiss*😙🤌🏾

jason basically claiming reese by giving her head (if you’ve read this book you’ll understand) was unconventional but so romantic to me idk

also the fact that he was calling her “princess” from day one (although it didn’t start out as much of an endearment) makes me giddy every time i think about it

there was a case of the 2 MC’s parents dating but i actually didn’t mind in this book. in fact, i was invested in it too

all in all i love this book DOWN
