It was bad.

Historia miała potencjał, jednak sposób w jaki została przedstawiona daje duzo do życzenia..

I loved it. I loved how it has been written. I loved the character development. I loved Vati. Ugh. It was so good. AH

I accidentally read this because i thought it’s the book people kept recommending from tiktok, and all throughout i kept asking myself how are people in love with this because it’s catastrophically bad. I realized a little too late that I’ve actually read the wrong book:)

This is basically angus, thongs, and perfect snogging (the movie) but with the aspiration to be science-y 🤧

I literally don't know what happened, I picked this up to get a little reading in before bed and it is suddenly 1am and I'm done
10/10 for pulling the reader into the story
but also this was so, so good

Edit; review post-reflection thoughts
This is a really good story about understanding love and intention and boundaries and respect and the weird nuances that come with navigating feelings
It has a wobbly start but the pay-off in terms of story is so worth it. Just so cute and nerdy and delightfully human.

But I’m also afraid that some of the smaller plot elements feel a little thrown in
Spoiler (don’t get me wrong, I adored the tattoo plot element but it felt very out of left field- which I guess was the point)
, and that some of the pop-culture references already feel dated in 2020 so I can’t imagine how weird they will feel in five years.
Overall, amazing, wonderful, would totally recommend.

Also side note- the way Vati uses idioms from other languages made me tear up so much, my parents do the same thing all the time and I didn’t realise how much I craved accurate bilingual household representation until now, its just really nice to see a personal experience being experienced by others.

I picked this up in a charity shop and it was such a fun and easy read. The characters were very likely and it was a funny book. I thought the ending was really nice and there were some really good discussions throughout the book particularly about self esteem. The main character also loved Physics and spoke about Science quite a bit so I loved that as well. I thought there were some elements that were a little bit unrealistic and the romance felt a bit sudden. Overall this was a funny and sweet romance that was perfect for a quick read!
