Holy cow. I love this series so dang much. It's literally all I've ever wanted in a book. I especially loved getting some answers, even though we walk away with a handful more. I adore Ricky, though duh...Gabriel is my favorite. But I have a thing for broken people. I saw that Armstrong is working on the fifth Cainsville and I'm so stinking excited.

I liked this far better than the first one! The mystery was more compelling, the romance was well written, and I’m far more intrigued by Gabriel than I was in the first book!

In this second book, we find Olivia trying to have some semblance of a normal life while still processing the circumstances of her early years and seeing omens and other preternatural signs at every turn. Gabriel Walsh is still a major player and in spite of some rather large bumps in the road is still a very significant part of Olivia's life and her attempts to unravel the mysteries of who she is, what she is and why Cainsville is so damn strange. If you haven't read the first book definitely go get it and come back to this one. There's a lot of creepy and fascinating groundwork laid out in book one that's needed to pick up book two. There are some great things about this series. It's just plain eerie! Weird things happen constantly. There is very little over explained for the reader. No info dumps or hand holding here. There is great subtlety to the plot meaning you have to read every word and I even pull out my phone to do some googling of the Welsh terms used here and there to get some clarification of what type of "magic" forces are at work in the town. I feel like I have to work at this a bit and it's well worth it! There's so many threads dangling and while we do get some answers that whet the readers appetite by book's end it barely scratches the surface. The characters are also really interesting, Gabriel in particular. They have different levels and depths and all serve a purpose. Olivia is very easy to root for and is a strong female lead without shoving it in your face. Gabriel is so hard to define I won't even try. The rest all fit seamlessly. I haven't always been a fan of this author's work but really feel like she nailed it here.

Believe me, I was so against finishing Visions. Why? Because I was about to part with the Cainsville Trilogy (at least for a few weeks).

Perceptions is still weeks away from being available to me, and I really wanted to continue with it right after I finished Visions. Kelley Armstrong will draw you in with her compelling blend of words, and leave you until you're gasping for air, yet wanting more.

I really can't wait to read Perceptions and see how everything turns out! I absolutely ship Olivia with Gabriel, and although I hope it turns out that way, I doubt it. My main favourite part of that ship is Gabriel. I absolutely love him!! He has such an interesting character, and the better I know him, the more I love him.

When I started the Cainsville series, I couldn't stop reading, I was completely hooked. Kelley Armstrong has obtained that, and after the end of a second book I'm still hooked! Kelley Armstrong is the pro at writing, and she'll make you want more so, so badly.

Re-read: I am such a Ricky and Olivia shipper. They just work so well as a couple. I won't be convinced otherwise. How bad I want them to end up together, her and Gabriel should just be friends damn it.

Old Review: Hot damn, the motorbike scenes, hell all of the sex scenes. I was egging on her and Gabriel but lust over feelings because Ricky, Ricky is worth it. Gabriel is just not as hot, let's face it, he's interesting sure but who would you rather take to bed? The wild bad boy Ricky. Of course I still root for her and Gabe, but on a lust level Ricky all the way. On a love level, definitely Gabriel. Damn the fae, and the investigation, Ricky owned this novel.
How the hell she ended up with a man like James Morgan? Baffling.
Patrick is more then a asshole then I thought, to do that to your own child? Ouch, what a dick.
