A very intelligent heroine but riddled with pschylogical issues and perceived by all except the hero as very prickly. A nice, funny hero who would do anything for the heroine and has been in love with her forever. Very nice, sweet story.

I stopped for a couple of days, and honestly I don't remember a thing about it, so not going to go back.

I so want to rate this one higher for how Milan embraces women with brains, but this book fell flat to me. Violet in the previous books is witty and fun, but this Violet is prickly and cold. I still enjoyed the unconventional plot, but it is my least favorite of the series thus far.

I was a bit reluctant to read The Countess Conspiracy, not because I didn’t think it wouldn’t be good — I knew it would be, but I was worried that since it was friends-to-Lovers that it would be very angsty and I’m not a big fan of angst. I really loved the first two books though and I am very excited to read Free’s book, so I just decided to go for it. That makes it sound like I didn’t want to have much to do with The Countess Conspiracy at all, but I was actually looking forward to getting inside Sebastian and Violet’s heads and learning all about them. This wasn’t an easy read, it did make my heart ache, it made me angry and made want shout and shake some characters, but it wasn’t as angsty as I feared. Even if it had though, it would have been a worthwhile read because The Countess Conspiracy was beautiful, moving, and remarkable — I loved Sebastian and Violet and their story so much!
