Unique characters and perspective on history make this a good read. I enjoyed the dialogue between the characters. The first part of this book had me in tears--when that happens you know the character development and writing is on point.

“I came to know Doctor Mesmer, not in person, but in wax. He had a very flat face with almost no profile at all, as if it had been grown facedown in a skillet.”

An extraordinary life lived in extraordinary times. You will feel like this story is a delightfully creative fiction until you start googling and learn more about Marie Grosholtz, aka Madame Tussaud, aka Little.

"Little" has been my companion on long walks over the past few weeks, and I have enjoyed the history, art, dark humor, and wonderfully quirky characters. Narrator Jayne Entwistle does a fabulous job of bringing it all to life.

Highly recommend.
