Ummmmm this book destroyed me in many ways. THE END?!?! THE END?!!! I KNEW it was coming because of spoilers I didn't care about at the time and yet I was still gripping the book and hoping it wouldn't be true.

ANYWAY. The rest was great. I really liked the four POVs we got. I loved everyone's reactions to Wonder Boy Percy Jackson and I loved the seven of them trying to work out how everyone fits in the group and Percy and Jason's battles to be the leader. But then they discovered they work best TOGETHER. A lesson was learned. Um. I love Piper. I hate when people call her whiny or useless (which I actually haven't seen anyone say explicitly but I've seen plenty other people say they have). And Annabeth. Annabeth, there's no words really to praise her enough. I really liked the whole Leo/Hazel/Frank sort of side story. I love those three. I love ALL of them. And Jason getting frustrated at always getting knocked out - well when he's conscious he's very good at his job and more than makes up for all the sleeping and injuries I think. What I like is that they're all completely aware and conscious of their fatal flaw and yet push past it and defy it - Percy aside, who just can't work out what's wrong with saving everyone.

I miss the gods. The giants are good villains, with all the chat and wittiness that makes up every fictional villain nearabouts, but I miss Hermes and Poseidon and ALL of them. I liked Mr D (Bacchus, whatever. I'm firmly Team Greek) swooping in to save the day in the least helpful way possible.

THE ENDING. I'm back on the ending!!!! I don't know what the House of Hades will be like!!! I think I have to wait until Christmas to read it, if I get it. How can I wait that long!!! Percy Jackson has my heart and soul.

Enjoyed this immensely

I'm really enjoying the heroes of Olympus series so far, and this one was particularly good.

I enjoyed getting to see the two camps come together to work on the quest, and especially towards the end it felt like the story was really getting interesting. And it's always nice to be able to see the characters developing as they grow, it's like growing up alongside them!

Excited to see what happens next!

A bit slow at times, but really picked up by the end.
