This book is the best example of how IP rights for literature is a nonsensical concept (when ancient literature was created and consumed collectively), and why fanfiction should be published. Yes, this book is basically The Stranger fanfiction, but I mean this as a high compliment here, especially considering The Stranger is one of the best books I've read. It's a good read.

Saker har hänt sedan jag plockade upp den här blygsamt placerade romanen på La Page i South Ken, för att Meursault är en litterär bekantskap från förr. Förstasidan från L'étranger är inristad under min frankofila hud. En favoritroman.

Ekot av Camus är mycket stort hos Daoud och det är avsikten. Postkolonial ansats i det att 'araben' får ett namn, en identitet samt en viss upprättelse. Intertextuellt laddade ordval som aujourd'hui maman..., asile, absurde, l'indifférence, le regard, le soleil...
