Rasanya aku kehilangan sosok Scarlett disini.. Benar-benar berubah 180 derajat.
Padahal aku sangat menikmati Gone Wind The Wind. Tapi begitu baca sequel-nya ini seperti hilang semua karakter yang dibangun oleh Margaret Mitchell.
Tapi wajar saja, karena ini bukan beliau yang menulis. Lebih baik baca sampai GWTW aja harusnya :')

I read this years ago and was furious. Absolute trash compared to GWTW!

This book, obviously, is not the same as Gone With the Wind. GWTW was truly literature with it's combination of historical events and detailed character accounts, Scarlett... not so much.
Scarlett, the novel, is more of a guilty pleasure, it ain't exactly good literature, but you'll enjoy it, and what's so wrong with enjoying a book?
It's one of my favorites to read over and over. I loved Scarlett's fiery character (it's sort of inspiring to me) and was admittedly curious what would happen to her and her relationship with Rhett.

This is probably sacrilegious, but I actually liked this better than [b:Gone With the Wind|18405|Gone With The Wind|Margaret Mitchell|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1166913011s/18405.jpg|3358283].

Not as bad as most of the reviews rate it. I would have cut 50 of the chapters, it's so long, but it could have been cut down and it would have been better.

For fans of Gone with the Wind, I enjoyed the continuation. Of particular note, chapters in Charleston and Ireland.

While I didn't buy into it 100% as "the" sequel to GWTW, it was a very engrossing read, and I loved visualizing Scarlett -- especially Vivian Leigh's Scarlett -- in Charleston, Savannah, and Ireland. In any case, it is far superior to the TV miniseries adapted from the book. The TV project was pure soapy cheesiness. This book treads those waters, but doesn't wade right in until near the very end.

Quite good, albeit with too abrupt an ending that should have been drawn out or had another book.
