As Paul takes the time to really explore who he is and what he wants after his marriage falls apart, the independent stray dog he sees on vacation becomes the inspiration for what he wants from his own life.

A nice little audio (free with current membership) that really impresses upon the listener to take time to smell the roses and to cultivate and put oneself first!

Being in a relationship can be a beautiful thing. But so can bring single. Even though we feel like our worlds are collapsing when our relationships fall apart, but in all the loneliness, we have the chance to find ourselves again. Pulling ourselves out of our comfort zone and doing something different can be a life changing moment. It can show what we are capable of on our own and can show us that we don’t always need “someone” beside us to do the things we love in life. Be free in your single-life. Don’t let the sadness win. There is so much sunlight when you reach the end of that lonely tunnel.

Short and sweet. This is especially nice if you have been to Italy and will recognize a few places mentioned

It was ok, I love his books but this short story wasn’t my favorite.

I literally chose this to listen to because it mentioned a dog, and honestly, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. I like that this focused on not relying on someone else in order to have your own life experiences and breaking away from codependency. I also thought that NPH killed it as a narrator, and I definitely want to read more from this author (and maybe adopt a street dog from Venice lol).
