I was pleasantly surprised by this. I've only read a few collections of essays, and have loved them all so I guess I shouldn't have been. All of them resonated with me in some way, a couple more than others but I really enjoyed her writing and the topics covered. I found that even though Polley was discussing some dark times in her life, she didn't paint herself as a victim or completely innocent- it made for a raw and real look at certain events. Really enjoyed this (and also trying to figure out what restaurants she ate at in PEI).

I wasn't very familiar with Sarah, as she seemed to belong to a part of that Tragically Hip side of Canadian history that I'm not well acquainted with. While half of the essays were outstanding, the remaining half delved into life experiences that didn't capture my interest, making it challenging for me to care.

I just LOVED how this was written. I really like her spiral personal essays, so many beautiful details, honestly great

Insightful and raw, Sarah wrote everything tastefully and I learned so much through these essays especially surrounding Canadian film/tv culture and the industry.
